LONDON - Britain said on Tuesday it would send experienced military officers to bolster its diplomatic team in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi.

伦敦——英国周二时称，将派遣有经验的军事官员以支持其在利比亚东部城市班加西的外交团队。

"These additional personnel will enable the UK to build on the work already being undertaken to support and advise the NTC (Libya's opposition National Transitional Council) on how to better protect civilians," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

外交部长在一份声明中说，那些额外的人员将以已经开始的工作目的为前提，即支持及建议利比亚反对党临时委员会如何更好的保护平民。

"In particular, they will advise the NTC on how to improve their military organisational structures, communications and logistics, including how best to distribute humanitarian aid and deliver medical assistance."

特别是，他们将要建议临时委员会如何提高他们的军事组织结构，沟通及后勤，包括如何更好的分派人道主义帮助及提供医疗帮助。

Britain said the military team would not train or arm Libyan rebel forces in fighting troops loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi.

英国称，军事小组将不会培训或武装利比亚的反对势力，与忠于利比亚的领导人卡扎菲的军队作战。
